This course is an online program in which the students attending the Qirā’āt theory (AS100) course will be required to complete their ijāzah in the variant readings. The theory course is taught immediately before the ijāzah reading so that the students can easily sit through the theory course and immediately sit in the ijāzah reading instead of having any gap in between.
To receive an ijāzah, students must register in this course as well as the AS100 theory online course.
This course will follow a historical trajectory, where the students will start in September by learning about the history of the Qur’ān and its recitation from the time of the Prophet until codification. Shaykh Uthman covers all of the orientalist and contemporary critiques and grievances on the preservation of the Qur’ān within the first months.
After the first four months, Shaykh Uthman will shift the focus to the recitation of the Qur’an in Sughra first and then Kubra using the book Farīdat al Dahr.
