Course Overview: The AS100 Qirā’āt Theory course provides a comprehensive understanding of variant reading’s theoretical aspects. This course must be taken alongside the Ijāzah in the Qirā’āt and Variant Readings course for students to be eligible for their ijāzah.
Course Objectives:

- Full detailed study of the uṣūl of the variant readings.
- Explanation of the jamaʻ reading methodologies, and detailed analysis of the taḥrīrāt
- Analysis of the history and narratives surrounding the variant readings.
- the evolution of Qirā’āt, the original subjectivity, and later rigidities
Registration:
- Opens in August and closes in September.
- Students must register for both the AS100 Theory course and the Ijāzah in the Qirā’āt and Variant Readings course.
Days and Timings:
- Saturdays from 8 am to 10 am Mountain Time.
- (Theory and Ijazah Reading are at the same time)
Duration:
- One Year from September 2024 – August 2025
