Ijāzah in Tajwīd
Texts: Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl, al-Jazariyyah, and al-Khāqāniyyah
This one-year foundational course focuses on mastering the rules of Tajwīd through three classical poetic texts: Tuḥfat al-Aṭfāl, al-Jazariyyah, and al-Khāqāniyyah. The course culminates in the awarding of Ijāzah in these texts and the proper recitation of the Qur’ān according to the rules of Tajwīd.
Students will learn both the theoretical rules of Tajwīd and apply them in live recitation. Emphasis will be placed on clarity of articulation, proper pronunciation, and accuracy of application.
This course serves as the entry point for students before progressing to Shāṭibiyyah (‘Asharah Ṣughrā) and Ṭayyibat al-Nashr (‘Asharah Kubrā). Recitation will be cumulative and built upon in future Ijāzah programs.
