This is an advanced course to learn about and obtain ijāzah in the four qirā’āt of the Qur’ān that are in addition to the ten. Through studying al-Fawā’id al-Muʻtabarah by Shaykh Muḥammad Aḥmad Mutawallī, students learn the qirā’āt of:
– Ibn Muḥayṣin
– al-Aʻmash
– al-Ḥasan al-Baṣrī
– Yaḥyā al-Yazīdī
Students:
– Learn the rules of the four qirā’āt, i.e. the uṣūl section of al-Fawā’id al-Muʻtabarah, in detail
– Recite the first juz’ of the Qur’ān in each of the four qirā’āt
– Cover the beginning of the furūsh section of al-Fawā’id al-Muʻtabarah in detail
– Complete a reading of al-Fawā’id al-Muʻtabarah to cover the remaining furūsh (for the entire Qur’ān)
This is an elective course. Prerequisite knowledge required is al-Qirā’āt al-ʻAshr (al-Ṣughrā or al-Kubrā).
Recitation of the Qur’ān is separated and segregated by gender.
Registration opens up in August 2021 and closes in early September 2021. Classes begin in September 2021 and are estimated to continue through December 2021 (this may change depending upon reading speed, etc). Students receive their ijāzah by completing the coursework and attending the graduation event (August 2022).
