Ustadha Fathima Faariya Izbahany emerges as an articulate and inquisitive scholar deeply committed to the pursuit of knowledge. Her scholarly journey is characterized by an unwavering dedication to learning Islamic Sciences and a fervent desire to share her acquired wisdom with others. Hailing from Maryland, USA, she was nurtured with Islamic values by her parents, which laid the foundation for her profound connection with the Islamic tradition. Subsequently, she continued her educational journey, seamlessly blending secular and Islamic education in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
Her academic accomplishments include the prestigious Al-A’limiyyah degree, where she achieved an exceptional rank from the renowned Colombo Institute of Theologians- Ain Institute, a trailblazing Islamic institution in Sri Lanka. Ustadha Fathima Faariya Izbahany holds Ijaazahs in Tajweed, particularly for the renowned poem “Muqaddimah al Jazariyyah,” with an extensive analysis presented in the form of “Fath-hu Rabbil Bariyyah, Sharhu Muqadimatil Jazariyyah.” She has also obtained Ijaazahs for the Tajweed poem “Tuhfatul Atfal” and the book “Al-Arba’oona-Nawawiyyah” from her esteemed teacher, Shaykh Fawwaz Fazal.
With a profound passion for Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprudence), Ustadha Fathima Faariya Izbahany is captivated by its indispensable and practical nature, especially in contemporary contexts. Currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science Degree on the pre-med track at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, she endeavors to amalgamate her profound love for the Deen with her fascination for Biology, aspiring to contribute towards a holistic approach to medicine.
Beyond her academic pursuits, Ustadha Fathima Faariya Izbahany is a prolific poet and an insightful writer, frequently addressing contemporary issues. Her commitment to teaching extends to imparting knowledge on Tafseer, Hadith, Fiqh, and other Islamic Sciences to both children and adults. As a devoted daughter, she actively serves her parents and harbors aspirations of dedicating her life to the noble cause of serving the Deen.
