The purpose of the course is to learn the recitation of the Qur’ān following the approach of the classical Qur’ānic scholars.
Times: September – August (Weekly)
Saturdays 11am-1pm MST (12-2pm EST)
In this course students will learn the classical approach to the recitation of the Qur’ān. Along with recitation, students will cover the classical text of Al-khāqāniyyah as the primary text and eventually cover the rules of recitation as written and taught by other classical scholars (such as al-dāni, Makkī b. abī Tālib, al-Shātibi and others).
In the past Critical Loyalty used to focus on the traditional approach to Ijāzah however after realizing that the objective is to recite and approach the Qur’ān like the Prophet (SAW), we changed our approach. The theory and philosophy of teaching Tajwīd taught at Critical Loyalty is not taught anywhere else in the world. Our objective is to do justice to the classical approach.

Get ready for one of the most thrilling and exciting journey’s you’ll take through the science of Tajwīd. Critical Loyalty has a unique way of putting the students into the shoes of the previous generations and showing them what was going on in each era. I took this class expecting to go through general learning, however, I came out of it realizing that what we know or are taught in other classes is only a small portion of what knowledge really is.
