Ustadh Armaan Kazi Ahmed

His Education

After studying Neuroscience at Kings College London, Ustadh Armaan started his quest into the Islamic sciences. After obtaining a basic understanding in the main sciences of Islam, Ustadh Armaan decided to specialize in the field of Qira’āt. He learnt with various teachers from USA & Canada and first achieved his Ijazah in Hafs ‘An ‘Asim from Sh. Yusuf Osama Yusuf from Al-Azhar, Egypt. He continued his studies and achieved his Ijazah in the 10 Small Variant readings (al-‘Ashr al-Sughrā) from Sh Luqman Mohammed, S. Africa. He then went on to study Tajweed and the 10 Great Variant readings (al-‘Ashr al-Kubrā) with Sh. Uthman Khan.

He has authored a book called The Special Words. He is currently researching Tajwīd and Qira’āt.

His Life

Ustadh Armaan resides with his family near Milton Keynes, UK. Apart from his daily job, he is the founder of the Recite With Us institute (ReciteWithUs.com) and also a Co-Founder/Chairman of the registered charity Akram Aid (AkramAid.org). He is also a keen sports enthusiast, whether tennis, football/soccer, or even resistance training. He is a big proponent of living and eating healthy and is looking to move his career towards helping others do the same.

His Teaching

Ustadh Armaan has a very straightforward and efficient teaching method, looking to use fewer words but having more of an impact. He encourages students to think and ask questions. With this approach, he can attempt to let everyone participate and ensure that the class remains engaging for all the students. The one thing he will not allow is for someone to be spoon-fed all the answers!
